What do you think was the best movie and album that were generally ignored by the critics and the public, or at least didn’t get anything near what they deserved? Here are mine
Most Underrated Album:
Aimee Mann - “Lost In Space”
I can’t believe that the same critics who drool all over themselves at Wilco’s “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” didn’t adore this album. Gloriously haunting vocals floating over endless layers of instrumentation and experimental noise. Gives me the feeling of being on a drive through the Texas hill country late at night, drifting in and out of radio range, trying to bring the voices back in tune to take the edge of the desolation. Wonderful.
Most underrated Film:
Solaris
An incredible film about the nature of life, love and loss. This movie was visually stunning, conceptually interesting, well written, well acted and well executed. It was not easy for me, but I loved it… it made me think a lot about the way I relate to people and deal with love. A few critics went with me, but most gave it only a lukewarm reception.
So… what do you think?
