Aren’t they? Palin is holding her cards face out. It seems to me that the artist’s point is that she’s a moron and doesn’t belong at the table.
Nixon’s cheating. You can’t actually see any evidence of this in the painting. But come on, it’s Nixon.
I don’t like thinking of Reagan and Nixon as “mostly dead.”
That leaves room for improvement.
They should put Michele Bachmann in there, but she’s using UNO cards.
That’s my take.
That’s what Kay Summersby said!
Heck, they could have a table with Kennedy, Lincoln, McKinley, and Garfield playing cards.
Call it Tragic; the Gathering.
Question: Who’s the dude between Lincoln and Nixon, smoking a pipe?
I believe that to be Gerald Ford.
My two thoughts on seeing the Democratic president paintings:
-
Obama’s in the pool one, and yet Woodrow “I segregated the Federal civil service” Wilson hasn’t suddenly remembered an appointment he had elsewhere.
-
In both of them, one of these men is not like the others – and I don’t mean Obama.

This.
In the Republican pool one - Abe’s not nearly tall enough, and it’s interesting that they show the two Bush’s palling around. The story was always that GW didn’t much care for dad (and vice versa?), but they may have made up since GW quit drinking.
Can anybody see what Palin’s hand is? I can’t get the thing to zoom in properly.
Come to think of it though, why go to all the trouble of modifying a painting where Palin isn’t at the table and have her sitting at the table, just to make the point that she doesn’t belong at the table? I think we’re missing a step here … a painting that includes Palin, but doesn’t have her holding her cards backwards.
What? No Freddie Mercury? And where’s Cobain?
Damn, they’re both really nice. FB!
I can’t get it to zoom well enough to make out individual cards. Worst case, she’s got nothing. Possible flush, possible straight flush, and since we can see what appears to be a 10, I suppose we can’t rule out a possible royal flush. I guess the best joke would be that she has a royal flush and is showing all her cards.
I’m thinking Rook cards, as French suit playing cards are the Devil’s cards.
Looks more like Pigpen to me.
That would explain why I don’t recognize him.
Didn’t know he was a pipester, either.
