Don’t go to Hawai’i without a hermetically sealed space suit.
Quite possibly the creepiest animal ever?
Wow, impressive.
Where did you find one?
It was playing checkers with a four-pound spider.
Is that a centipede in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?
A little more info in the OP would be nice. Pictures?
Anyway, if you can’t deal with nature, stay in your bubble at home.
Want entertainment?
-
Wait till victim is settled comfortably in bubble
-
throw in 7 inch centipede
-
lock bubble from outside
I’m usually not a fan of one-sentence OPs, but that gave me a good chuckle.
I got bit/stung/whatever by one in my sleep in Tahiti. I was dreaming at the time that a 2-pound wasp was injecting its venom into the middle of my back, and then slowly realized it was not entirely a dream and I really was being attacked by a nasty critter. Most of my body went numb for 2 hours except a surge of intense pain with each heartbeat.
If you really want a picture, try Centipede in Hawaii: I Was Stung Today - Beat of Hawaii
Maybe you don´t really want to look at the thing.
I stepped on one once (nobody wears shoes in Hawaii, usually) and hobbled around for about a week looking like I had elephantiasis.
Man, that’s one ugly fucker. Triggers that primitive part of the hominid brain responsible for clubbing stuff repeatedly with a rock.
Spiders in Hawai’i?
The first thing i think of is the The Brady Bunch. Anyone else remember that?
Well, at least it wasn’t a human centipede.
Don’t click on this! While technically SFW, it is not safe for one’s emotional well-being.
So, basically you’ve had it with those motherfucking centipedes on those motherfucking lanais, eh?
Old thread on the subject of biting centipedes.
I hate those things! It really pisses me off when you try to kill them and they break up into individual segments all while you’re trying to dodge jumping spiders, fleas, and that damn scorpion that moves too fast.
This is just one more reason why all of nature that isn’t cute, pretty and/or leafy green needs to be nuked from orbit.
Jaysus.
In an earlier thread I linked to an impressive video of a centipede slithering through the jungle eventually to battle a tarantula. We have such things where I live.
