motley crue and aerosmith at Nissan Pavilion (30-Sep)

Did anyone else go to the show?

We can discuss the show, but what I really want to know what songs the Crue opened with since, due to poor planning and an untimely traffic accident (not me, just in the way), we were late. If I remember correctly we got up to the top of the stairs during Too Fast For Love.

Anybody? No comment on the show? Nobody who was there was on time either?

Didn’t go - don’t live close and I tend not to go to big arena shows…

But I would be interested in hearing:

  • how was Crue? I would assume that while the show is good, Aerosmith would blow them off the stage in terms of songs and musicianship…

  • How was Steven Tyler’s voice? Any signs of the medical issues he’s been dealing with?

  • what were the highlights and best songs of both?

Thanks and I hope you get the answer you’re looking for!

Well, the Crue sounded good except that Vince Neil announced early that he was “just getting his voice back” so he sounded pretty lousy and Nikki Sixx consequently did a lot of the between song banter. The music rocked though. Mick Mars didn’t move more than a few inches (you know, because of his condition) but sounded great.

Louder than Hell was probably my favorite (also with the most fire), though Girls Girls Girls and Kickstart my heart rocked.

Stephen Tyler sounded, IMO, great, and didn’t seem to have lost anything physically. This was my first Aerosmith show so I don’t know what to compare it to. Some highlights: They opened with Toys in the Attic and segued into Mama Kin, did their cover of Baby please don’t go and encored with Walk this way and Train kept a Rollin’. What more could you ask for?

Sounds cool - thanks.
