I’m am just about done with reading this new book, which appeared in my library a few days ago. It is a long book (400+ pages) but its good.
Hard to put down.
This is the story of 4 totalyl disfunctional guys in a band.
They have been messed up, and led messed up lives.
Mick Mars, the quiet one comes off as the most “normal” and this with him beleiving we may have been planted on earth by aliens.
Nikki Sixx had the most horrible childhood and life, later becoming a heroin addict.
It makes me truly glad I was not in a band, especially theirs.
Their book, which I recommend, should be read by everyone who thinks being in a band, sleeping with many groupies and doing drugs is fun. Apparently, it wasn’t.
I read the book this summer. I agree with you, It was really hard to put down. Mick Mars is certainly the most normal one of the bunch. I thought Vince Neil is really full of himself, Nikki Sixx is very screwed up and Tommy Lee is like a puppy dog that just follows everyone around. After reading The Dirt, I’m suprised the members of Motley Crue are still alive.
It’s Leary’s Theorem
"Motley Crue would never overdose! You could put them in a room with two tons of crack and they would come out a half hour later screaming, “Rock on!”
“Shit, they’re still alive!.”
The small, humorous part of the book is where the story of the AMAZING ENTITY that is Ozzy Osbourne is mentioned.
Where our guy Ozzy puts on an old ladys dress, snorts ants through a straw, pees, drinks his pee; then dares Nikki to do the same. When Nikki pees, Ozzy bends over and drinks IT!
Sheesh.
