motorcycle price guide

Is there a site giving the dollar value of motorcycles.
My wife has decided to sell her 1974 yamaha enduro and I don’t know what to ask for it.

It’s hard to say how much it’s worth without more information. I did a quick search on infoseek (“1974” and “enduro”), and found a few hits. There are a few brands that use the name “Enduro”, at least in the ads I found, but I’ve always connected the moniker to Yamahas, so that’s what I’m posting.

80cc, $600
500cc, $500
125cc, $800

This is in-line with what I’ve seen in the past. If it’s totally restored, in showroom condition, you’ll get a lot more. If it’s a beater, you’ll probably get a lot less.

FWIW, I’d pay $500 for a 1976 Yamaha 250 Enduro, running, with all its parts. Maybe a little more if it’s CA license 1M7749 or 1M7750. It might be fun to get a 1973 Yamaha 100 Enduro, CA lic. 5G8366 back, but I wouldn’t go over $300, and the last time I saw it (years and years ago), it was missing some parts; so $300 includes a lot of sentimental value.

Dunno about what’s on the web, but I do know that such a thing exists in hard copy; it’s called the AMA Official Motorcycle Value Guide.

Motorcycle Consumer News (MCN), a monthly publication, also publishes a value guide every season, but – I think – it only goes back 15 years.

You might want to see if either of those two publishers offer an on-line version.

Good luck.

Or call a local dealer and ask.

MC prices also vary by region so you might get more in one place and a lot less in another.
