Makes me wonder about situations like Waco/Branch Davidians. Like we don’t already have an army of law enforcement here, let’s bring in the FBI, ATF, I dunno—US Marshals—and have a pissing contest over whose jurisdiction it is.
But wait! A&M owns acreage in that area…:D:smack::dubious:
My younger brother was a Louisiana State University (LSU) police officer until recently. LSU is a small city on its own and he was head of the canine unit and lived with his drug detention and attack dogs. Police powers are granted by the state everywhere that I know of and he had arrest powers anywhere in Louisiana. It might piss other departments off if he made an arrest 300 miles from home but he still held jurisdiction within all of Louisiana if he ever needed it. The arrest would still be valid.
Could be a fun plot for an action movie. An ass-kicking campus cop who doesn’t take shit from anyone cleans up a crime-ridden backwater town patrolled by a corrupt police department while he’s on vacation.
