Motorola European Cell Phone

I have borrowed a Motorola P7389e for use in Italy. It already has an Italian SIM card. Unfortunately, the manual is in french, and the instructions stored in the phone are in Italian, so I have no idea how to check and see if the Sim card is still good, or how much airtime is left (if good) or basically how to do anything. Does anyone know what this French phone model is in the US model so I can figure out some things.

That’s a really old phone - launched in 1999/2000 - I would be surprised if you can still find the manual. Have you tried working through the menus? You might be able to recognise the option to change the displayed language.

Good idea; English menus are very likely available. Look for something saying “Configurazione” o “Settaggi” (for configuration options), and then for something saying “Linguaggio”. “Inglese” means English.

Here you go.
However the number you need to call to check your balance is not part of the phone, but the network, so that kind of information is not gonna be in the phone manual. You’d need to ask your network / service provider for that info.

FYI That model will display “invalid sim card” or “Check Sim” if the sim has been deactivated for non-use. I can’t remember which as it is an older model.
