Mounting an HDTV on wall question

analog meters from Gardner Bender (big electrical tool company) or Southwire (big electrical wire/cable company) can be found at big box stores. maybe $15.

the old style neon bulb testers were harder to use. the small bare bulb was recessed to protect it and indeed hard to see at times. i did get a version that was much brighter and had wrap around plastic so it was much more visible. both Gardner Bender and Sperry (big electrical test equipment company) have those at big box stores.

The last ceiling fan that I replaced had a dimmer switch intentionally placed on the fan circuit. It also had 10 wires hanging out of the box. It took me a day and a half to figure out what was what because I’m an electrical genius that doesn’t label wires when I disconnect them. There’s no need to because I’ll obviously remember what went where. :smack::smack::smack:

In case anyone is wondering, a ceiling fan wired to a dimmer switch goes really slowly and makes an “ohmygodi’mdying” noise, no matter what the switch is set to.
