Mouse Driver: 32 or 64 bit system?

I had to install a new wireless, optical mouse. To use its full potential, I need to download a mouse driver. But, to do that, I need to know if my system is a 32 bit or 64 bit system. To self check my PC, the website directions are incomplete.

What do you think they are asking when they say “system”? Does this refer to the type of operating system I am using, or something more mouse-specific? Is it coincidence the existing mouse driver is in a subfolder called “system32”?

Any info at all would be appreciated.

Operating system. Right-click on “My Computer” and select properties, it will say there. If you don’t know, the odds are great that it’s 32 bit.

Both have a system32 folder.

They mean the operating system. They want to know if you’re running 32- or 64-bit Windows.

I’ve recently purchased 2 new fancy logitech mice and have had the same bump with the 32 or 64 bit question.

Doing this doesn’t tell me which one I have, I’ve just checked again. Where in the properties would this info be displayed? Is it possible that certain PC models or whatever don’t display this?

I chose 32 bit and both mice have been working well on different PCs.

Never thought I’d ever spend more than the minimum for a mouse, just clicks stuff right? But dang! The new suped up gizmos with features are really neat to work with and get addictive very fast. After I got a nice gaming mouse for my home PC, I just had to get a better mouse for work.

I’m officially a dweeb. But I love my fancy mouses :stuck_out_tongue:

As it stands today, if you were running 64bit Windows, you would know.

However, how to check… That is a good question. System Properties doesn’t say it when you’re 32bit, but I think it always says it when you’re 64?
