mouse-over popups

Any one out there know how to disable mouse-over popups? I have the Google popup blocker, and it works very well, thank you. But the standard popup blockers, including Google, only block Javascript popup “windows”. The type of popup I am talking about are Javascript “mouse-over” popups like you will find here:

Any ideas?

In a Internet Explorer, you have to turn off “active scripting” and may have to turn off all “scripting”. In Mozilla, you have to disable Javascript.

The worst part about the TV Guide popups is you don’t even have to have the mouse near the ad for it to pop down and cover the entire viewing area. Ugh

Great. Damn. I can see where popup technology will be in a few short months. Since everyone’s getting on the popup blocker bandwagon they will probably all start using the mouse-over.

Worse yet, the IMDB also seems to be infected with this type of advertising. That damn Alias ad keeps popping up and you don’t even have an option to close it until it runs its course.

Apparently between Norton Firewall and Avant Browser’s built-in adblockers, these don’t get through. ‘Cuz I ain’t seein’ nothin.

Mozilla’s pop-up blocking combined with AdSubtract Pro seems to be keeping these ads from popping up for me, too.

And with Mozilla Firebird, I don’t even have to see annoying Flash animations. I just see blank rectangles where they’re supposed to be.

Thanks for the tip! I just downloaded Firebird and I already like it a lot. It’s snappy, fast, got nice tabbed windows, it kills popups and Flash, and it’s free! What’s not to like?
