This thread of mine, my thread was moved from GQ to IMHO. I attempted to PM the mod, however it said I didn’t have permission to do such a thing, so I came here. Just wondering why, as I was looking for a factual answer, not someone’s opinion. I just want to know so I can avoid this in the future as I am pretty new here, and would like to follow all established conventions. Thanks.
Asked, answered and moving into the anecdotal, probably: GQ seems to be tightening up a lot lately. If you do want to contact a mod, just click on one of the names at the bottom of the forum display and e-mail them: it might help to put SDMD in the subject line so they won’t overlook it.
Hi Queuing, I moved your thread from GQ to IMHO.
While you were looking for a factual answer, it is very difficult to give a factual answer to your question. Most of the responses are, or would be, anecdotal.
There was nothing wrong in posting your question to GQ. Where possible, we attempt to provide factual answers to all questions posted in GQ. However, sometimes, a thread might do better in another forum, e.g. IMHO, allowing people to offer better answers (such as providing further anecdotal evidence) for questions that are difficult to answer factually.
And PMs are not activated. Sorry about that.

B’oh! SDMB.
Hello,
thanks for the answers. So really there are no hard and fast rules? Sort of up to each Mod? No worries about the lack of PM, I just thought that would be the easiest way to get my answer. The move didn’t bother me, I was just wondering why.
