Surprised James Dean did not get mentioned. Technically, “Giant” was filmed, but one Dean scene had to be re-shot before editing, which was dubbed by another actor.
“deaf mute” is going to bring the wrath of both the National Ass’n of the Deaf, and the Gallaudet Alumni Ass’n upon you. Unless a person is physically unable to speak due to a condition of the vocal folds, “mute” is incorrect.
OMG! I ran a projector at an art house as a sideline, and I had to show that one soooooooo many times. I have seen it-- and hated it. The episode of Seinfeld where Elaine hates this movie is extremely personal for me. I wept the first time I saw it.
