Movie Marathon (Part 1)

English Patint is a very, very good novel, and I sort of refuse to watch films after reading the book. Like The Reader and Dragon Tattoo and LOTR.

Movies you know you SHOULD watch, but doubt you ever will.

  1. Schindler’s List
  2. Boyhood
  3. Das Boot
  4. Saving Private Ryan
  5. The English Patient
  6. E.T.

It’s an incredibly popular movie that I have never seen.

Definitely one you can skip. Highly over-rated. The set piece battle scene at the beginning is amazing and the rest of the movie is mediocre.

Movies you know you SHOULD watch, but doubt you ever will.

  1. Schindler’s List
  2. Boyhood
  3. Das Boot
  4. Saving Private Ryan
  5. The English Patient
  6. E.T.
  7. Roger and Me

EVERYONE should watch Schindler’s List, IMHO.

OK, I’m not sure that this one is possible, so we may have to modify…

(A couple of months ago, I started a topic in this thread on “Movies Based on SNL Skits”, and that thread had a hard time getting to 10. We may not make 10 in this narrower one.)

Rotten Tomatoes score of 61%

Harumph. I didn’t find it, so I thought I was being unique. And, per the Wikipedia SNL page, there were only 11, so, yeah, I VASTLY overestimated the number of BAD SNL-based movies.
