I recall the first time I saw the movie as a kid. I was a big Stooges fan and was excited when I saw “The Three Stooges” in the opening credits. Then I was disappointed when they literally just stood there . At that age, I didn’t get that the whole joke was simply that they were the firefighters.
Not in play:
A friend of mine in college had the exact same reaction: as a kid, he’d seen an ad for the movie, being shown on TV, in TV Guide , and he was so eager to see it, due to the Three Stooges being in it…and, then, was extremely disappointed by their ever-so-brief cameo.
