NEXT: Movies where the title is misleading

  1. The Front (1976)
About a guy who fronts scripts for blacklisted writers during McCarthyism, but sounds like a war film.

Movies where the title is misleading

  1. The Front (1976)
  2. To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995)

I know how it fits within the film itself, but if you saw that all by itself on a theater marquee – well, what would YOU think?

-“BB”-

Movies where the title is misleading

  1. The Front (1976)
  2. To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995)
  3. Duck Soup (1933)

Except for the opening shot, which is a kind of pictographic title card, I suppose, there are no ducks, and no soup. The meaning may be that starting a war is “duck soup” (easy-peasy), but that’s reaching.

  1. The Front (1976)
  2. To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995)
  3. Duck Soup (1933)
  4. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)

There is no nest of cuckoos nor does anyone fly.

  3. Duck Soup (1933)
  4. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)
  5. Pan’s Labyrinth

del Toro has said that the satyr-like creature in the movie isn’t the Greek god Pan at all.

  5. Pan’s Labyrinth
  6. Half Nelson (2006)

Not about wrestling, and doesn’t even have a character named Nelson.

  8. The China Syndrome (1979)

China is not shown, or visited, and IIRC not a single Chinese person appears in the movie at any time.

  8. The China Syndrome (1979)
  9. The Breakfast Club (1985)

There is no breakfast served or eaten. In fact, the event takes place after breakfast. They do eat lunch, so maybe The Lunch Club is more appropriate?

Not in play, but according to Wikipedia:

A college friend of mine attended a high school in the same area as the one used in the film; he claimed that the detention class there was also called “The Breakfast Club,” as they served detention early in the morning, before school.
