He’s had a couple of minor roles in movies, though he’s much more well-known as being a musician and theatre actor.
Nor has anyone mentioned Russell Crowe or Mel Gibson. (Technically, Crowe was born in New Zealand and Gibson in the US, but both grew up in Oz and began their acting careers there.)

Incidentally, “Man is in the forest” later became a code phrase in the Disney studio to indicate that Disney himself was approaching.

There’s no real single-person antagonist here–just the prejudice in the Jim Crow-era south, that sees protagonist Don Shirley (black) celebrated for his piano skills, while at the same time, being directed to the “little house on the prairie” when he needs to use the facilities during the intermission of his recital. There’s more to it, of course—his misadventure in a “sundown town” for example—but that about sums it up.

Unusually for a sports movie, there’s nothing remotely resembling an antagonist here. It’s about the joy of love, sex, and baseball.
