The use of “gaslight” as a verb recently seems to help this one overcome the “vintage factor,” the only real strike against it as far as its broad appeal.

Not entirely sure I understand the premise of the category, but I guess millions of people saw it in the late 70s and it spawned generations of sequels, so I guess that must be pretty broad appeal. I suppose every box office hit would qualify as having broad appeal.
