By 2008 Mall●Wart was selling DVD side-by-side two-packs of the remake packaged along with the original, so that you could watch J. Stewart, E. Borgnine, P. Finch, R. Attenborough, and G. Kennedy in the 1965 version and see for yourself just how badly the 2004 remake sucked.

I haven’t seen the remake, but the consensus is clear that it was an unfortunate mistake.

The remake lost the social commentary from the first and had an important piece of the plot hinge on the chinstrap of the helmet, something the main character never had buckled anyway.
