I believe this covers far more time than that.
We meet Wesley as the farmboy who leaves Buttercup. There is a five-year interval before he returns as the Man in Black and has his encounters with Inigo, Fezzig, and Vizzini. Then there is another time lapse between Wesley’s capture and the wedding – during which time Wesley recuperates and is tortured, Inigo becomes a drunken sot and is rehabbed by Fezzig, they find the ‘mostly-dead’ Wesley, and have their interaction with Miracle Max – before everything is resolved during the climactic encounter with Count Rugen and Prince Humperdinck.
