Movies that do a very poor job (if any) of masking their actual filming location

  1. Angel Eyes

This 2001 film is set in Chicago, but much of it is filmed in Toronto. One of the first things one sees in the opening scene is Toronto’s iconic CN Tower. Other very recognizable Toronto landmarks of the time are clearly manifest: the Honest Ed’s discount store, Sam the Record Man, even a Toronto bus drives by in one scene in full sight.

  2. Rumble in the Bronx

Filmed in Vancouver, mountains are clearly seen in the background.

  3. The Beginning of the End
  4. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indy travels to Cusco, Peru, where we see the Chichen Itza pyramid. It’s actually in Mexico.

The first was set in Cleveland but filmed in Detroit; the second was set in Detroit but filmed in Cleveland. Proof that Hollywood considers the cities essentially interchangeable!
