What kind of class is this for?
There is a scene in Keeping the Faith with Edward Norton (the priest) and a kid while the kid is confessing for kind of lusting over a woman. Movie is like PG-13.
Also, Alec Baldwin’s confession from 30 Rock Season 3 “St. Valentine’s Day” in which the priest runs away screaming. It doesn’t appear to be online on YouTube, but the episode is streaming on Netflix now.
It’s a standard Catholic confession at the start, with Jack’s portion being:
“You wanna a confession? Let’s get this done so I can go eat.
I am divorced, I take the lord’s name in vein, often, and with great relish. I hit my mother with a car, possibly by accident. I looked the other way when my wig-based parent company turned a bunch of children orange. I once claimed I am God… during a deposition. Annnnd, I may have sodomized our former Vice President while under the influence of some weapons grade narcotics.”
Humorous and classroom-safe!
ETA: found an audio clip! Maybe someone with better Google-fu can track down a video: Jack’s Confession
There’s a confessional scene in Jeffrey, IIRC, in which a gay priest played by Nathan Lane makes a pass at the protagonist.
Isn’t there a confessional scene in Sister Act, too?
There’s a confessional scene in Seinfeld where Jerry admits he’s mad at his dentist for claiming to be Jewish. But he’s no antidentite!
President Bartlet says his confession to a priest in the death-penalty episode of The West Wing, but it’s in the Oval Office, not in a church.
There’s an amusing albeit violent confessional moment during The Ringer.
My memory is failing me but didn’t Leslie Nielsen play a role as a priest somewhere doing a confessional scene?
That was in The Mask of Zorro, actually
Those aren’t buoys!
I came in here to mention this one soley, but figured someone had to have beaten me to the punch…so I second or third this one.
A movie that I haven’t seen in a long time: The End, with Burt Reynolds as a dying guy who tries to kill himself before he actually dies. He goes to confession, and the priest on the other side of the curtain is a gum-popping Robby Benson. When Burt starts confessing all the bad things that he’s done (adultery, IIRC), the priest says, “WOW!”
I’m guessing not what you want, but Van Helsing has a scene in a confessional. I will think about it some more.
Boondock Saints has a pretty good scene inside a confessional of a Catholic church.
James Woods in the movie Salvador goes to confession after something like 30 years of absence and makes some pretty hefty confessions.
Damn you, I was coming in here to report that!
If you’ll recall, they thought the confessionals were the bathrooms.
Man: I’m sorry. How many Hail Marys?
Beavis: A thousand. And I want you to hit yourself, right now.
Man: Um, now?
Beavis: Yeah. Do it.
sounds of many beating himself and crying
Beavis: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Harder.
But you forgot how Butthead asks the one guy who confessed to having an affair to tell him all the details:
Man: “Forgive me Father, I’ve sinned. I, uh, I-I slept with a woman, and uh…”
Butt-head: “Really? Was she naked?”
Man: “Well, yes, Father. Please forgive me.”
Butt-head: “Cool! Could you, like, see her boobs?”
I came here to post this one. It’s pretty funny. I like the part where Burt says that he’s uncomfortable calling a guy 1/2 his age “Father” so the guy says for Burt to call him Dave. Burt says, “Bless me, Dave, for I have sinned…” Pretty good stuff.
Oh, another one, I can’t remember the movie, has Charles Durning as some kind of big time gangster. His confession: “I haven’t been as good to my wife as I should have.” The priest says:“Is there any more?” Durning:“No, that’s about it.”

I think there’s a really good one in Basketball Diaries if I’m not wrong…
There should also be one in The Bourne Identity I think
Flashdance has a couple, in one of them it’s pretty clear that this is the only time she confides in someone… she starts off with the "bless me father … " then just breaks down.
