Yes, that is a picture of the scene, to bad the bottle isn’t laying on the ground in the photo though. Ditto to thinking the stuff would do the same job before or after he was killed.
As for previous post about throwing off the store clerk that could of been it, but why after throwing that clerk off would he still use it? Also i forgot to mention he drives a older car maybe a gto or 2+2, maybe he just needed it for his car but it didn’t last that long.
I’ve never seen it but Isamu’s theory is exactly what I was thinking.
According to post on imdb asking the same question, the bottle is orange and labeled “IceEngine.” Obviously a fake prop coolant / antifreeze, then.
This really is pretty baffling.
I would imagine that the antifreeze would be used to remove fingerprints, DNA, any other biological and possibly chemical sample associated with clothing, the victim, etc. There would be some sterilization aspect to it as well- but it would certainly disrupt many potential clues if nothing else. Perhaps misinformed in fact, but I can imagine someone equating ethylene glycol with super strong alcohol in the criminals’ minds.
What if it was meant to be like HEET - that is, a fuel antifreeze containing highly flammable methanol or isopropanol? That would tend to support the ‘dig or I burn you alive’ view.
I considered that it might be a bit of misdirection on the part of the filmmakers, as a ass-covering move in the event of ‘copycat’ activity by viewers. Like giving a fake in-movie formula for drug or explosive synthesis, they show something that seems like it might be dangerous but is actually innocuous. But then again, antifreeze is potentially lethal if ingested in relatively small amounts, which would defeat the purpose of picking a harmless, if threatening, gesture.
Not seen the movie, but could it be symbolism of the victim going to hell?
And touch a dead guy? Ewww.
Quick question, lurkedtolong: Was the dousee indeed killed, and if so, how? Might help provide a clue.
After all of this took place, a final revelations shows that the victim would suffer more horribly if left alive. To make a long story short, only a leg gunshot was given before driving away. This movie was based on doing a robbery to fund protection for his father in prison. Once the payment was not made, his father was put in general population where he was instantly killed.Living knowing this would have been a much greater punishment. Curtis feels that he is better than his friend when he leaves his friend alive which is more than we can say for his friend who shot him and left him for dead in the movie opening.
I think it would possibly confuse cadaver dogs I watched the other night couldn’t figure this out as well this how I found post
I asked 50 on twitter, I’ll let you know if he replies, I doubt it
