Movie: Time Cop

Am I wrong, or is the end of this movie a serious screw up?

Time cop (Van Dam) of the past dies while time cop of the future lives. Not possible, especially according to what we’re told all through the movie. Am I missing something or is this a flub on the part of the script?

Wait, wait, wait…

You’re actually concerned about the ending for a Van Damme movie? C’mon. Why not ask about the really important questions, such as, “After Obi-Wan and Vader die, they look great, so how come Yoda looks 900 years old?”

This movie was great. I seriously dislike most action flicks and any blowemup crap. This movie was different. If I ever see the video for sale I may buy it because for the life of me i can’t remember the details clearly enough to debate the OP. This was a lonstanding debate in my family. I say that the necklace should be tested to see when it was really made. Does he even have it when he gets back?

That was the only logical dilemma that bothered you about the film?

How come when the timecops came back, they didn’t use the fancy car that they started with? How is it that they didn’t alter the future on their trips into the past?
Why are the timecops under the jurisdiction of the DC Police Force? Does this mean that NYC and LA will have their own timecops as well?

For the record, “Timecop” is one word.

When traveling back in time, why can they sometimes pinpoint exactly where the crime is being commited (Van Damme walks into the office of the bad guy) and someimtes “dump” the time travelers into a random place in the past (in front of a speeding truck. in the river.)?

Max Walker: There is never enough time.
Melissa Walker: Time for what?
Max Walker: To satisfy a woman.
Melissa Walker: Then you never want to miss an opportunity.

Timecop didn’t die in the past, but saved his wifes life. When he returned to the present, his wife was alive and had given birth to son. The son seemed to know daddy well, but daddy seemed preety suprised that he was a father.

That’s the problem with time travel movies, like ‘Frequency’. The dude who travelled is unaware of the changes to the past, but to his family and friends, the dude was there during those changes.

OH yeah…

The elder vanDamn changed his past by dragging both his younger self and his wife out of the fire. He left them on the porch. (The fire being started when he tricked the bad guys past and present but in the past versions to be in the same place, and then kicked them together, thus causing a big explosion and fire.) The fire being what killed his wife originally, he then rescued both his younger self and his wife. He comes back, every one is happier (for not having the evil senator around) and goes home to find out he has a wife and son, who are expecting him.

Never mind the fact he did break a few dozen rules, he got his wife back.

ARGH!

Back To the Future == Front Porch
Timecop == Front Yard.

Too much time travel.
