To be fair to your thread, I can only think of bad sequels that people DID want, until they saw them, or sequels nobody asked for that, despite that, weren’t that bad.
Just to nip it in the bud; there can never be “too many” Sharknado sequels.

Having faithfully watched them all, I regret to say yes, there can be.
U.S. Marshals (1998). The Fugitive was a fine, Oscar Nominated (and winning for Tommy Lee Jones) film that did not need a sequel which was essentially a re-tread of the original.

Not that it was a bad movie in and of itself, it was just unnecessary. A crummy rerun.
What they should have done in the second was have the team chase someone that was actually guilty. You know, like they normally would do. Ge top see what they can do against a ruthless killer, and not a good guy done bad. Why make another “wrongfully accused/framed suspect” film? Why is that better?
FBI Most Wanted managed to make a couple seasons of mostly interesting episodes on that very subject. Getting into the mind of the fugitive can be interesting.
The keep trying to remake The Crow. I guess those aren’t technically sequels, but they really should learn the lesson that it be best left abandoned.
The first Crow sequel(City of Angels) is quite well done.
