Movies that feature fashion shows

Inspired by this thread.

The Women
Cover Girl
How to Marry a Millionaire

I just mentioned this in the other thread. Maybe it’s in one of the movies you mention: there’s a musical number, “The Girl I Love Is on a Magazine Cover…” featuring fashion models posed in “magazine cover” frames–Good Housekeeping, Ladies Home Journal, Vogue, etc.

The Girl on the Magazine by Irving Berlin was featured in Easter Parade. Ann Miller danced to it.

ETA: I found it, in Bright Lights Film Journal:

The Lyrics of Irving Berlin says that the song originally was called The Girl on the Magazine and later was renamed The Girl on the Magazine Cover.

The “Beautiful Girl” number in “Singin’ in the Rain” features a fashion-show sequence.

And who could forget the “Dereliqtue” show in “Zoolander”?

**Prete a porter ** (not one of Robert Altman’s better moments).
The Devil Wears Prada

I think Pret a Porter might have featured a fashion show or two

I was too late the highbrow, so I’ll aim a little lower with Brüno instead.

Funny Face, with Fred Astaire as a photographer based on Richard Avedon and Audrey Hepburn as the model he discovers and takes to Paris.

Does Paris Is Burning count?

Mahoghany, with Diana Ross.

Here’s an obscure one: “Slap Shot”

Another obscure one: David Byrne’s True Stories.

Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead

Slaves of New York.

Zoolander

The Great Muppet Caper

COVER GIRL with Rita Hayworth! I remember that, so adorable and corny!

Lucy Gallant, 1955, starring Jane Wyman. There was a fashion show presented by the famous Hollywood fashion designer, Edith Head.

Kinky Boots! If you haven’t seen the movie, do! It’s really good.

To Catch A Thief. Though the fashion show was costumes. Grace Kelly had a liquidy gold gown.

I’m trying to think of one other movie with something similar - Tales of Hoffman?

I saw the movie twenty years ago but I think there was a fashion show scene in Bright Lights, Big City. As I recall, Phobes Cates’ character was a model and Michael J. Fox’s character disrupted a fashion show she was in by showing up high on cocaine.
