Could be. The version I saw ended with him on the table being tortured by Michael Palin. Then my head exploded when I tried to figure out when his torture induced hallucinations had started.
Snowboarder Bo beat me to it, but I *loved * Identity. Went out and bought the DVD after I watched it on one of the premium cable channels.
It’s still one of my favorite popcorn movies and was a big hit at our theater group’s Movie Night getogethers.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
He’s a figment of Cameron’s imagination.
Yeah, the Tommy Westphall Universe stuff is pretty interesting.
Toy Story (just because its apparently fun to list titles without explanation)
Life On Mars - UK television series (and later remade in the US) where the main character awakes to find he has apparently traveled back in time to the 1970s… Or has he?
Hmmm, do the toys really come to life or…?
… too long.
Similarly, there’s a early-1990s TV series called The Odyssey in which the main character, a teenage boy, suffers a head trauma and slips into a persistent coma. Scenes alternate between “downworld”, the fantasy realm his mind creates, and “upworld”, where his mother cares for him. Doubts about reality aren’t presented as such to the audience, though there is enough “overlap” that it affects the boy.
There’s the upcoming series called (I think) Awake, where the main character has a car accident with his wife and son. His wife survives but his son is killed, until he goes to sleep and finds himself in a different reality where his son survives but wife is killed. As the show hasn’t even started airing yet, I could be wrong on a few details, but the main part, waking up in a different universe when he goes to sleep in the other, that’s certainly going to put reality in doubt.
To be fair they may want to avoid spoilers, the subject matter lends itself to plot twists.
If you want to go off of movies, then take Garfield. Sorry it’s a video link, but that’s the way I experience the creepiness, and so shall you.
I have to wonder, how many people have seen only the Love Conquers All version of Brazil?
