I thought the original MBFGW was endearing and funny, and I’ll probably see the sequel. Showing the struggles of their half-Greek daughter is not a terrible premise by itself, so we’ll see what they do with it.
Good thing it’s not My Big Fat Greek Divorce.
Ah, yes, the film well known for its tag line: There can be only [del]one[/del] seven. Also two TV series, three or four video games, and a dozen novels.
And with the sequel Highlander II almost universally reviled, hence my statrement.
Full Disclosure: I didn’t particularly care for Highlander, myself. As far as I’m concerned, the original wasn’t necessary.
Ok I can find the prequel but what were the 2 sequels?
No. No! NO! Whatever you just said does not exist, and I refuse to acknowledge any such thing.
Also, Alien: Resurrection. The space military clones Ripley as a human-alien hybrid for… uh… I’m sure they had their reasons. None of those reasons could possibly justify this giant turd of an unnecessary sequel, however.
How about we establish a special category for gimmicky remakes that nobody asked for? I am, of course, looking directly at the new Ghostbusters movie, with female Ghostbusters. Hello? The 1950’s called. They want their social issues back.
I wonder if Nia Vardalos loves to go the chopping mall? Bitches be loco!
As long as somebody brings the Windex, I’m happy.
Mrs. Sundance (1974) (TV Movie)
Wanted: The Sundance Woman (1976) (TV Movie)
IIRC, neither of these is worth your time, unless you enjoy watching Katherine Ross ride around in a cowboy outfit. (hmm)
Skywatcher, thanx for the assist.
Windex is from the Greek “Wind,” meaning…
(I can’t pull this off! )
What about the remake of Memento?
I stand corrected.
The movie was awful but it did have some great music.
It’s interesting that this thread came up on the very day they released publicity pics for the new movie “The Huntsman,” which is apparently a sequel to the extremely boring “Snow White and the Huntsman.” I don’t know how they got Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain to join this clunker.
I kinda liked Snow White and the Huntsman, even though I was mentally doctoring the script as I was watching it.
There should be a rule that at least 25 years must pass before a remake can be approved. And that isn’t even taking into account that Memento is a great movie that doesn’t need to be and can’t be improved upon.
I’m OK with the soundtrack existing. We can all agree there was a Blues Brothers 2000 album. The end.
There’s not a single thing in your reply that I can even disagree with, let alone dispute.
If you think a movie with a female cast can only be a gimmick then apparently it’s still a relevant issue.
