Movies you love that most people don't?

What are some movies you enjoy, that most people don’t seem to?

Myself:

Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

Enjoy, not love: “The Golden Child”

I’m still pretty fond of Dune. And even more fond of the Director’s cut. Yet my family won’t watch it with me unless I employ the Gom Jabbar.

Sahara with Matthew McConaughey. I loved it. Great action, fast-moving, funny and I loved Steve Zahn’s character.

Joe Vs the Volcano with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I loved the quirkiness of it, the slightly off-kilter storytelling.

And also The 13th Warrior. The guys playing the Viking warriors were awesome.

I really liked “Torque” and “Biker Boyz”.

I had an Edison record player and three waist high stacks of 85rpm records and my parents gave it to a traveling salesman for some mysterious reason.

85rpm? What planet was that on?

And what thread was this supposed to go in?

I find I can enjoy any Jackie Chan movie.

Fandango. Kevin Costner’s first film, and boy, is he ever a kid in it. Also Judd Nelson and Sam Robards, son of Jason.

It’s silly, funny, sweet, wistful, corny and reminds me of my youth.

I love The Hudsucker Proxy with all my heart.

It’s going to sound like a broken record because I’ve happened to bring it up a few times in the last few weeks but I liked both Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad (in fact just rewatched Suicide Squad again today).

I think Predator 2 is much better than the first one.

I think Amazing Spider-Man 2 (the Andrew Garfield one with Electro) was so good it made me like the first reboot (the one with the Lizard) more retroactively.

Not a movie but the episode Expose is in almost every Lost fan’s 5 worst episodes list. It’s in my top 5 episodes list.

Jesus, way to make Enrico Caruso sound like Betty Boop.

I’m very fond of Reform School Girls and Barbarella.

It’s not so much that people dislike some of my favorite movies, but they’ve never heard of them. One is The Bravados, an old Gregory Peck western. Another is Thursday, which features a cast of B and C list actors (Mickey Rourke is probably the biggest name), but IMO is a very entertaining film about a former drug dealer trying to leave his past behind.

An 85rpm record played at 75rpm would make him sound more like Samuel Raimey

Weekend at Bernie’s, the original and the sequel.

Howard the Duck.

I’m sorry.

I Heart Huckabees is one of my favorite movies in the world. It’s a comedy about existentialism starring Jason Schwartzman, Lily Tomlin and Dustin Hoffman. The entire premise is weird, starting with a guy hiring existential detectives to investigate a series of strange coincidences involving a tall African man. The dialog is weird, the execution is weird, it’s all very weird, but I feel that someone basically put my entire life philosophy into one amazing film. Just rewatching the trailer made me all giddy.

90% of the time when I pop in this DVD for friends, I get blank stares.

I guess they just can’t deal with my infinite nature.

That’s because Jackie Chan is a god among men.
