Movies you saw as a kid but cant remember the name.

I saw a movie that had a man in the jungle looking for revenge. The man might have been a soldier or something.
They killed his girlfriend and when he found one of the men responsible, he grabbed some of the man’s hair and cut off the top of the skulled… I think after that he fell to his knees and screamed with skull and hair in hand…

It was from the from the 80’s or early 90’s

One of my favorites was probably filmed in the early 50’s or late 40’s. A troubled teenager befriended a bird dog trainer on a southern plantation. The bow in turn befriended a troubled dog he could relate to and they both went on to win some big event. I haven’t seen it come on since the late 70’s or so. Used to be shown on classics.

That one about the alien who phoned home.

In the late 1970’s, before Under the Dome (book and TV show) and The Simpsons Movie I saw a movie on TV (it may have been a made for TV movie) about a town being closed under a glass dome. I remember a scene where a guy killed himself intentionally trying to break his way through it by driving his car quickly.

“The Bubble” (1966) The Bubble (1966) - IMDb

That sounds like The Biscuit Eater.

Thats it, the name came back as soon as I saw it.

I can’t seem to find it online to watch, but if this is it, thanks!

A cartoon, probably Japanese. A couple on a spaceship are trying to rescue their young son who is on another spaceship slowly being drawn into a black hole, they list the help of a very old man, but are unable to prevent their son falling into the black hole. However the very old man turns out to be their son who after falling through the black hole was transported back in time.

That sounds something like Les Maîtres du temps – the old man being the young boy they’re trying to rescue part, anyway.

I remember one from the 80s about this guy who finds a woman genie in a lamp and wants the genie to help him get a girlfriend. He ends up falling in love with the genie IIRC. I want to say Amy Dolenz starred as the genie. I’m sure I could find the name if I googled it, but I think it qualifies since I don’t remember the name off the top of my head.

I think your movie is Miracle Beach.

Here’s one: It was in the sixites, I think – might have been early seventies. However, I think it was based on the loss of a bomber with a-bombs aboard, off Spain, in 1966, so I’m gonna guess '66, '67, or '68.

Movie… Might have been made-for-TV movie.

A guy – or a team? I think it was a team – is in a Mediterranean coastal town, looking for a lost A-bomb (or other nuclear object.) Some kids actually find it, but don’t report it. The horrible give-away is when dead fish start washing up on shore.

That sounds like The Day the Fish Came Out.

I saw a horror movie in the mid-to-late 80’s that I swear was called Seven Deadly Gates (or Doors). I can never find it under that title, but it starts off with a wedding. The groom is caught by the bride fooling around with another woman, and she snatches up scissors (I think) and kills him, getting her dress all bloody. Later it develops that there is a door to hell in the basement of this house, which basically made it haunted. The other thing I remember about it was that a blind woman found herself stumbling around in a greyish realm and was attacked by her own guide dog. That’s how the movie ended, I think.

There was also a 60’s western I once saw in which a bunch of cowboys are getting ready to charge into action, and one of them said “I’m not a Christian, but my mamma was” before saying a little prayer.

The Beyond, also known as Seven Doors of Death.

So, according to that article, the actual film was even more disturbing than I found it? Mind you, I was probably ten at the time. The summary doesn’t mention the wedding dress scene, so I have no idea where I conflated that from.

Some girl named Debbie who wanted to go to Dallas and be a cheerleader.

It sounds a little like Jeremiah Johnson.

There’s a movie which features an “unattractive” (by Hollywood standards) woman in her mid-30’s, sort of frumpy-looking, with black hair and horn-rimmed glasses. Towards the end, she takes off her shirt and stands bare-chested in front of the very surprised lead actor (who I think was Alan Alda, but that’s probably wrong.) I don’t remember anything else, but that scene is clear in my mind since it was the first time I saw naked breasts in a movie.

All I know for certain is that it was released in early 1980, since it came out around the same time as Airplane! (which was the second time I saw naked breasts in a movie.)
