movies you're embarrassed to admit that you like

I’m not ashamed of any movie I like.

except for Meet the Feebles

Wow, this thread was a real eye-opener. I feel like I’ve eaten the forbidden apple and now have knowledge of crap movies.

Movies I didn’t know I was supposed to be ashamed until I heard it here:
What About Bob?
Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion
The Incredible Shrinking Woman
Three Amigos
Fifth Element
Strange Brew
Flash Gordon
Beavis & Butthead Do America
Meet The Feebles
(bought that one)
To be honest, I still don’t feel ashamed.

Some new ones to add to the list
Uzumaki
Final Destination
Honky Tonk Freeway
(welcome to beautiful Ticlaw!)

Hell, I’m still not ashamed!

Starship Troopers

-me

The Bobcat Goldthwait thread reminded me of two more that I evidently be ashamed that I like: Police Academy 1 and 3. They should have stopped there, or at least before the stupid hot air balloon chase in 4.

Ok you guys are kidding about Fifth Element and Starship Troopers, right? RIGHT?

My list involves Dirty Dancing and Cruel Intentions.

And I’m not even that embarrassed about it.

I have sooo many guilty movie pleasures that have already been mentioned (Beastmaster, Grease 2, Flash Gordon).

Basically, I have a terrible weakness for a specific movie genre. Take Centerstage for instance, there’s a girl that goes to ballet school and she has to practice, practice and the movie ends with a huge ballet scene. That’s pretty much my guilty pleasure staple. Like the Cutting Edge, two skaters, have to practice for the Olympics, there’s a musical montage and it ends with a huge skating competition! (musical montage is a HUGE plus!) Ditto Dirty Dancing, Mystery, Alaska, Footloose, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Xanadu…heck Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo, anything like that.

I also liked Legend.

Two words: Summer School

Starring Mark Harmon, Courteny Thorne-Smith, Kirsty Alley, and more.
Great bad movie

My sisters!

Yes, I also harbor a fondness for this movie – where else can you hear Michele Pfeiffer sing? Plus I had a crush on Michael Carrington! The actor is Maxwell Caulfield - who’s looking a bit weathered these days, but 20 (damn - TWENTY?!?) years ago was pretty hot, in a Cary Elwes kinda way…

And what would an 80’s teen flick be without Eddie Deezen!

I really enjoyed THE POSTMAN, Kevin Costner’s epic futuristic flop…something about its earnest pompousness worked for me.

Wow. Lots of flicks for which I have the same guilty love. Including:

Legally Blonde (planning on purchasing when I get around to it)
Strange Brew (watched many times in my teen years. Can still quote large portions)
The Cutting Edge - I own this one.
Bye, Bye Love - the scene where they’re pulling out of McDonald’s to the tune of “Rawhide” never fails to crack me up.

Awww…ya gotta love Dave and Chainsaw…!

“It had passion, and a plucky spirit!”

Rented “Booty Call” out of sheer boredom and had a good laugh–don’t tell

Booty Call is great! Just a funny funny movie.

I love:

**Road House
Half-Baked
Baseketball
Fifth Element
Flash Gordon ( a total mind experiment)
**and of course, Major League

Hey, I liked Summer School

I forgot to mention:

Krull. Apparently “true love” means being able to shoot flames from your hands. And be sure to look for a young Liam Neeson and Todd Carty (Mark Fowler from “Eastenders”).

and

Labyrinth, starring Jennifer Connelly in possibly her first film, and David Bowie. Fun with muppets and weird visual effects. “Rocks…friends!”

Tank Girl. Lori Petty at her best. I dunno why, but I can see that movie over and over and never get bored of it.

I own (unless my wife has thrown it away) The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.

Just remembered–“Coyote Ugly” was pretty entertaining as well…even with the hokey music thing…

OK, I confess.
I like Showgirls! I even went out and bought the DVD. What’s not to love? You got 142 bosoms, Michael Bolton-lookalike fu, showgirl fu, swimming pool aardvarkin’. Joe Bob says, “Check it out!”

I own Krull. On DVD, no less. How sad is that?

And I liked Summer School, too.
