As I recall, in FRWL, he ‘looked very fit’ because he ‘liked to keep in shape’.
Nitpick: Sean
I’m not sure why I mispelled Sean. Guess I was too focused on Robert Shaw.
Thanks for the correction.
I learned from Wikipedia that Daniela Bianchi’s part had to be dubbed by Barbara Jefford. I find it very surprising someone with such a heavy accent would be cast as a Bond Girl.
There had to be dozens of other attractive actresses that could have been cast. Daniela Bianchi did ok but I didn’t see anything special in her performance.
I know a lot of the leading women cast in the Bond Films were European with thick accents.
Sean Connery is my favorite Bond and I always enjoy revisiting his films.
Loads of the early Bond girls were dubbed, usually by Nikki van der Zyl: -
She wasn’t even the only Bond girl dubbed - Ursula Andress most famously, but it’s a long list. Many were dubbed by this voice actress:

Stumbled across Bohemian Rhapsody on Netflix last night while looking for something else. I’ve never seen it so I thought I’d check it out. I only got about halfway through it before I started getting sleepy, so I’ll have to finish it later.
Loved the scene where they bring the finished “A Night at the Opera” album to the EMI exec. He doesn’t want Bohemian Rhapsody to be the single because it’s six minutes long. He wants “I’m In Love With My Car” to be the single – “That’s a song you can crank up in the car and bang your head to. Nobody’s going to do that with Bohemian Rhapsody!” Which is hilarious because (a) that’s exactly what they do in “Wayne’s World”, and (b) the EMI exec is played by Mike Myers!
As was Gert Frobe, who played Auric Goldfinger. I’ve read that he spoke little English that was understandable and his voice was dubbed by a British actor named Michael Collins. He certainly looked the part though.
Fun fact: Myers and his co-star Dana Carvey had to do so many takes of the headbanging scene that they couldn’t turn their necks for the rest of the shoot, which is why the characters always swivel their whole upper bodies whenever they turn to face someone.
Young Robert Shaw looked like young Rutger Hauer.
“I’ve seen Japanese torpedoes you wouldn’t believe.”

Training Day 2001 Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Snoop Dogg
Obviously this movie is heavily influenced by The Shield. Except Denzel Washington’s character is far worse than Vic Mackey.
The characters are well written. Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke do an excellent job. There’s not much to the story except for watching Denzel Washington’s character abuse his police powers and breaks every regulation in the book.
I prefer The Shield. At least those corrupt cops are being investigated. Denzel Washington’s character is worse than the gang members and he gets away with it. Well, until he pushes the Russian mob too far.
Rating 8 out of 10.
I should have mentioned the final Act of Training Day is immensely satisfying.
I didn’t realize it’s loosely based on real cops.

That got caught in the late 90’s,
Rampart Scandal
Considering that the first season of The Shield came out a year after Training Day, I’d say that isn’t obvious.
Both projects were probably inspired around the same time.
The Shield’s producers must have heard about the wide-spread corruption in the Los Angeles police department.
I’m more impressed after reading Wikipedia.
I initially thought Training Day was overly exaggerated. But the movie got it right. Multiple events were depicted within one day. That’s understandable in a action film.
From the Wikipedia Train Day production notes…

Project Hail Mary. We love The Martian so I was eagerly awaiting this, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Weapons. Pretty creepy tale of witchcraft with a Jokeresque Aunt Gladys. I was on YouTube just now, and the advertising thumbnail in the upper left was for Kohl’s featuring “Kohl’s Mom” at a kid’s soccer game. Her extreme makeup and mannerisms make her look just like a young Aunt Gladys!
I was successfully baited by the auto start teaser for Frosted on Netflix, so I rewatched it for the first time since it came out a few years ago. God! I love this film. I’m not a big Seinfeld fan but the way they create a world that ten-year-old me would have found completely convincing is brilliant. I could watch a multi-season TV show based in this universe.
