Freecylcle is my new best friend. Lots of apartment-setting up stuff, and tons o kids clothes (presumably as other kids outgrow them). Occasional computers. Very few jets.
I have never been a kid moved out of a home but I have been a kid so…if the kids are small enough, get one very large futon and tell them they’re camping right now and they all sleep on it together. You get an air mattress in the other room. If you can set their stuff up in a canopy/tent, so much the better.
After you have enough money, you get all the kids individual futons and the large futon is yours.
