That’s a common misconception… here is a list of my initial posts:

By “you can post about any damn thing you want” does that also mean my sex life?
I’m thinking of starting a blog here: (the link is an example blog)
Why are you asking a mod here about what you’ll be able to post in your own blog somewhere else? That’s the point of having a blog, you can write about anything you like.
He (JohnClay) is trying to be clever with the wording -
While the moderator is clearly implying that he can post anything he wants to a blog elsewhere - JohnClay is trying to twist the wording to mean that if he posts it elsewhere, he can also post it here.

I would request that twickster be more explicit in his meaning here.
JohnClay, if you start a blog elsewhere, you can post any damn thing you want in that blog. The prohibition *here *on your posting about your mental issues, marriage, sex life, etc., will continue to be in effect.
There’s part of the problem.
One of the meanings of enjoined is;
instruct or urge (someone) to do something.
In fact, that’s the first definition given. Mod instructions should be clear and concise, not open to multiple meanings.
Huh. Guess I’m just not cunning and subtle enough for his machinations.
Does this last sentence ever mean anything? Yes, no one is being forced to post in JohnClay’s threads but people who do post in them have certain valid expectations about doing so and when those expectations consistently are not met, they have equally valid reasons to report the thread.
Also, wasn’t it Goebbels who said nobody was forcing anyone to read 'Dolfie’s posts on the inferiority of other nations compared to Germany? Ha-ha, Godwinized the thread! I win, er, lose!
Note : I left Shake’s first sentence in the quote because I rather like the idea of someone feeling me with the warm fuzzies.
Well, he’s already been sanctioned.
You should give it a shot. I hear it’s a pretty good site with very welcoming people. Be sure and participate in all of the forums. Good luck!
I see what you did there.
Personally, if I were JohnClay, I’d choose a blog platform with a wider audience.
Hi I was thinking about starting a thread about this but anyway - any requests for what I could talk about in my blog?
Whatever’s on your mind. Isn’t a blog for posting your thoughts?
It’s for an audience though and I want to think of them too…
Yeah there is an audience to consider. And I could make money on the side with ads
Actually I didn’t think of that loophole… I just wanted to be sure that twickster was ok that the linked to blog might contain controversial things…
My signature isn’t showing up - I’ll post again and see if it will show up now:
Moderator Action
Topic requests for your blog have nothing to do with the SDMB. Since the discussion here seems to have drifted away from things that do have something to do with the SDMB, I am going to close this.
