The gist:

Virgin Mobile is introducing a service in Australia (and perhaps elsewhere) that will enable a person to program their cellular so that it will not be allowed to call a particular number until 6 a.m. the following day. This is in reponse to a survey that found that 95% of cell users make calls whilst inebriated and greater than half check their phone on the morning-after-the-night-before to see who they called.

Can we get this on SDMB?

If this thing gets popular it’s going to seriously cut in on drunken prank calling. The prefered party activity amongst my friends and I.

Yeah its pathetic but theres very little else to do.

Hmm, interesting.

I’ve never been a big fan of the drunk-dial. However, I have elevated the drunk email and drunk IM to a form of high art.
