Mr. Pug got a job.

One year and three weeks after he was laid off. Phew! I was worried about keeping our home.

It’s a temp job, of 3-6 months duration, maybe more. He has been getting a flurry of calls and interviews lately, so I feel pretty secure that when the temp job is over, we’ll have something else lined up. He’s a piping and facilities designer with plenty of experience in working in the biotech and petrochem industries.

So you want to know what this job entails? The design of the plumbing and piping for a billion-dollar private estate! The estate is being built in Silicon Valley for a very famous local captain of industry. This guy apparently wants to build a mansion to rival Bill Gates’s, and is sparing no expense. The grounds of the pleasure dome include an immense private lake and other waterworks, so there’s a lot to be done.

BTW, the observations made here on the board about getting jobs through friends is true. This job came from a friend of Mr. Pug’s, who recommended him for the position. Hurray for networking!

-pugluvr, relaxing fully for the first time in a year.

Congrats! I will be sure to give you a call just as soon as I decide to build my own private lake.

(It will, of course, have a waterslide.)

Congrats!

'Grats. Keep the friend.

That’s terriffic Pugluvr.
He’s gonna sneak us all onto the grounds some weekend, right?

HOORAY!! Nice to hear about somebody in the Bay Area actually GETTING a job for once…

Congrats!
