Yay for home! What an incredible journey you’ve been on. Mazel Tov, Shoes!
Tell TOS to take his time getting better. After all the first 10K we have entered him in isn’t for 3 weeks and there is another 2 weeks before his triathlon.

(We all know he will start to gain strength quickly now that he is home)

You’re safe with us. Feel free to crumble any time you feel the need. And as for Schmoopie joining the board, maybe later when he can appreciate what you’ve been through these long months. Until then, Godspeed to you both. Here’s to rapid healing and not forgetting to take gentle care of YOURSELF.
I just caught up!!! Congratulations!!!
Great News!!!
I’ve been trying so hard to not post here, but I just can’t stand it anymore.
HURRAY!!! Congratulations!!!
I know a little of how you are feeling. Recovery is very frustrating, but TOS is stubborn and working at it. It will get better as you both adapt to the new life.
Quick, someone kick me off!
Carries flatlined off thread gently…
Bet you all thought you’d seen the last of this thread, huh? NOPE. Shoe had a seizure yesterday. Taken to ER, spent the night at the same hospital where this saga all started. I’ll post more later - right now we’re just killing time waiting for the neurologist to look at his EKG results and find out if he can be discharged today or not - but he seems to be OK.
Also, in digging up this thread I found the one informing me that Khadaji won’t be popping in with support, and I has a sad.
I am so, so sorry to hear this. Maybe it’s just a little road bump and he’ll be fine.
Crud. Hopefully it’s no big deal and won’t happen again. crosses fingers tightly
Please keep us posted.
Um…at least you know your way around?
Hoping this is just a tiny, tiny hiccup!
That’s just not right. Can’t you two get a break?
Don’t answer that.
Praying for you guys… hope it’s just a fluke.
With their luck it’ll be a broken leg.
Any update?

Crossing fingers.
Set backs are inevitable. I hope this, and any others are minor and quickly overcome.
I referred to the Younger Ottlet’s two-month hospitalization somewhere upthread (I’m too lazy to look it up). About ten days after she was released I went to her room to see what she wanted for dinner and found her in the middle of a seizure. I had enough presence of mind — barely — to call 911, she was taken back to the hospital, and subjected over the next week or so to a battery of tests to see if the cause could be pinpointed. The final verdict was something on the order of “sometimes these things happen and we can’t tell why”.
That was seven years ago and she hasn’t had anything even vaguely resembling a recurrence. Here’s hoping that the outcome is at least as good in TOS’s case.
(I found out two things that evening: first, that what I had thought of as “fear” was only a pale shadow of the real thing; and second, that a mumbled “Huh?” in response to shouting her name was the most wonderful sound in the world.)
Holy cow! Hopes that prayers help, cause there are a lot of them going your way right now.
I hope everything turns out all right and that he’s home again soon!
