Mr. Teacake - Discworld?

I recall a character named Mr. Teacake… pronounced ‘Tee-uh-KAH-kay’. ISTR he was an assassin. Where is this character from?

Discworld had Mr Teatime, not sure which specific character he was based on, though.

Teh-ah-tim-eh!

Thank you.

I specifically remember Mr. Teatime from Hogfather, an assassin hired to kill the Diskworld Santa analog.

Mister Teatime had a truly brilliant mind, but it was brilliant like a fractured mirror, all marvelous facets and rainbows but, ultimately, also something that was broken.

I love that sentence. It tells you everything you really need to know about the character.

And that’s why the live action adaptions don’t work. The joy is all in the words.

What makes you think he’s based on anyone? It’s an original character, as far as I know.

I thought there was a chance the OP may have been suggesting the possibility. I had checked here, but all it says is that perhaps ‘The name “Teatime” is very likely a tribute to fellow fantasy writer Douglas’ Adams work, The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul.’ I am sure he is an original character.

I think that by “Where is this character from?”, he meant “Which Discworld book?”. Which, as already mentioned, is Hogfather.
