MS Outlook Experts...Very esoteric question

I have the Outlook 2002 with several Exchange email servers in a corporate environment.

I have a rule in Outlook set up that all of my ‘Accepted’ Meeting Requests will move to a separate folder so that they don’t clog up my inbox.

It turns out that in order for the meeting (on my calendar) to register that a person has accepted the meeting, I have to read the meeting acceptance. If I just leave the acceptance unread in the folder, the appointment indicates (on the tracking tab) that the attendee has not yet responded.

Since the appointment is stored in Echange (and not on my PC), it seems that when the attendee accepts the meeting request, it should automatically update the meeting on the server.

Anyway, is there any way to alter the behavior of Outlook (or Exchange) to register the status of an attendee without having to read their response?

Thanks!

Does it not work to add a feature to the rule that all messages of that type will have a certain auto response, thus tricking the server into thinking you read it?

I just tried this and it doesn’t work either.
