I use MS Outlook with a POP3/SMTP setup. I have changed my settings to “send and receive every 2 minutes” and unchecked “send message immediately”, in order that I have a chance to catch any mail that have inadvertantly been sent to the wrong person (someone I know nearly got in big doodoo recently becaue of this).
Thing is, while some mails faithfully go out at the end of the two minute window in which I hit the “Send” button, some of them get stuck, and are still in my outbox an hour later. If I open them up and hit “Send” again, then hit the “Send/Receive” button, they leave my outbox, but not unless I do this. This also seems to be affecting the receive part of the operation - if there’s a mail stuck in my outbox, I get a backlog of mail sitting on the POP server.
Anyone got any ideas?
