MS Word (esp older version): can I find an online menu layout or "virtual" menu?

I’m using Word 2002, Chinese language version and it’s driving me up the wall when I want to navigate the menu to find, say “autocorrect as you type” and then a specific tab thereunder. Is there any kind of (English!) online map or tree diagram of exactly what falls where in the menu, hopefully down to very specific things like “turn the bloody smart quotes off.” Or better yet, some kind of Java (or whatever) based virtual menu where I can click on stuff and pretend to navigate down to where I want to go?

(As with every computer-related GQ thread I start, I anticipate the first half dozen replies will be “helpful” suggestions to do something completely different from what I’m asking. “Why don’t you just . . . [install a new version of Word/upgrade to Vista/switch to whatever].” I appreciate the replies, but I can tell you beforehand I’m going to ignore anything like this. I’m just interested in finding an answer to the question I’ve posed above, thanks.)

Keyboard shortcuts for Word 2002.

You can also create custom toolbar and menus with any commands you want on it.

Do you know for certain that your Chinese installation has not been customized? All the menus in Word up through 2003 are completely changable. If you’re in a large environment setting, they may have diddled with the standard menus for some reason of standardization or task simplification.

There’s also no assurance that the factory default Chinese menus are the same as the English ones. So you can’t look at a US copy of Word and conclude that the 3rd entry on the 4th menu pad is “Spell check” or whatever.

**Boyo Jim **'s keyboard shortcut link is for US Word & US keyboards only. Other language versions may be the same, or they may not be the same.
