MS Word, Excel: window within window

On the computer I use at home, which uses Windows 98 Plus! (I don’t know what that is; my brother sent me the computer with that already in it) when I open a document, new or not, in Word or Excel, the blue title bar at the top just says “Microsoft Word” or “Microsoft Excel.” This is the title bar adjoining the drop-down menus, the toolbars, and the ruler, if it’s open. The title bar with the name of the file is within this window, in the “work area.” My files and work on the data isn’t affected, but no other PC I’ve used, as at El Camino or Kinko’s, etc., does it this way. Is it possible to realign the window so the file name shows at top, above the toolbars? "confused:

Sounds like the file area is set for multiple windows. Just click on the icon at the right top of the inner window that looks like a box with a heavier line at the top.

Thanks. I did so and the title bar at the top shows the file name.
