MST3K- a coupla quick questions...

Joel’s escape pod was apparently hidden in a box of Hamdingers. Mike clued Gypsy in when he found the pod on an inventory sheet.

Mitchell is episode 512, IIRC.

Oh, and PACKERS!

My favorite line in Giant Spider Invasion was actually Barbara Hale’s incredibly moving and must-be-heard-to-be-believed utterance of “VAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNCE!” towards the end of the movie, after she discovered the spiders in the briefcase.

Trivia answer: The blonde redneck wife in the movie is Leslie Parrish, now better known as Mrs. Richard Bach. Who’da thunk it?

You mean, the ex-Mrs. Richard Bach. Yes, the perfect love story, chronicled in “The Bridge Across Forever”, ended after about 20 years of marriage. Who’da thunk it??

Even better was when the redneck himself, Robert Easton*, showed up in Episode 908, Touch of Satan, as the leader of a witch burning mob. It was great to hear Servo’s, “Packers!!! But mostly ‘Burn The Witch’!”
*Easton is, in reality, a respected voice/dialect coach who’s had a good four-decade career in Hollywood. He also turns up in small roles in some actual good movies.

Hey, I didn’t say anything bad about Joe Don. I just said he wants to beat the ever loving stuffing out of the Brains.

A grown man threatening violence against a couple of puppets. What is this world coming to?

Maybe she got sick of his messiah complex.

Seriously though (hijack in action) I used to like the book Illusions but Bach got so new agey preachy he started making my skin crawl.

Oh yeah, “Welcome to the Buddy Ebsen hair club for men.”

My My My My GOD!!!
Why would anyone what to do that with Mitchell, Joel?

“Wasn’t John Saxon in this movie?”

I received the DVD of The Crawling Hand. It’s the first Dr. Ehrhardt episode to come out on DVD, which means it’s the first time I’ve seen one of those eps in a long long time.

It’s fun to watch, if only because it illustrates how the show improved over the years. Josh Weinstein, bless his heart, was a bad actor even within the limited requirements of his role.

Servo’s non-Murphy voice takes some getting used to.

And there are definitely many fewer jokes per minute. There’s one point in The Crawling Hand where at least ten seconds passed in silence, both in the movie and in the theater. That didn’t happen in later episodes.
