MtM asks another carb related question!

So I’m trying to cut back on carbs for a couple of weeks.

Now if I was to have a couple of drinks what would be better for me in terms of carb levels (and yes I know no alcohol is the best answer).

I like drinking Alexander Keiths Pale Ale beer and Rye and coke (in a short glass).

I automatically think the rye and coke would be the lesser of the two evils, could anbody clarify this for me?

I’ll bet it’s a stuck power valve. The engine is idling ok, runs good at speed and doesn’t bog down until just after you gave it some throttle. The bad news is that you’re going to have to take the carburetor apart. The good news it that it’s a Rochester and it’s fairly easy to take apart. Don’t try to force things apart or back together.

Oh…

How about Rum and Diet Coke?

I’d rather rebuild a Holley than a Rochester any day of the week. At least it’s not a Honda carb though, yeesh.

Rye and diet coke. The digestion of alcohol is a topic of hot debate. Many doctors allow wine or unsweetened spirits, however, in the absence of a substance abuse problem. JAMA reported that alcohol has an insulin-lowering action (not a hypoglycemic action, BTW) and thus can be useful in controling high blood sugars. If I have a shot of Scotch, I can eat a little chocolate and keep my blood glucose in about the same range as if I’d had nothing.
