"Multicolored bear with ruffles": Amber Alert hack?

I just got an Amber Alert on my phone for a “multicolored bear with ruffles”. Anyone have any idea what that was about?

Turkey trots to water… the world wonders.

I understood that reference.

@Chronos, could it have been a reference to a toy ?

I mean, yeah, it does sound like a description of a teddy bear… but that doesn’t explain anything. Why would there be an amber alert for a lost toy?

Might that be a description of what the child was believed to last be wearing?

She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a multi-colored Care Bears outfit with ruffles.

ETA, there’s a few other news reports out about it and at least one reddit thread asking the same question. I’m guessing something get screwed up and the wrong snippet of the alert is what got sent out to everyone.

Here’s the actual Amber Alert.

OK, that explains it, then. I guess someone was trying too hard for brevity.

Yeah, it’s all over the Cleveland reddit.

Reading the thread, I see that it’s not the case, but based on the OP, I was actually picturing the Grateful Dead bears:

Which are on the t-shirt I am wearing under today’s Hawaiian shirt. The front has Jerry bears frolicking in a forest. The caption says “What do you do if you see bears in the woods?” The back of the shirt has the answer: “Play Dead.”
