Multiplayer Wii or Wii u game for kids

Heyo I have a small child (age 7) here who wants to play games on our newly bought wii u. Currently the only games she shows any aptitude with is Super Mario 3D Land and Nintendo Land. What else could she play with minimal frustration? I’d consider mario party or splatoon but neither of them are available yet. Any other suggestions?

There are existing Mario Party games, 8 for the Wii and 9 for the Wii U. Both will play on the Wii U. Do you mean 3D Land, as in the handheld 3DS game, or 3D World on the Wii U? There is also the clunkily-named New Super Mario Bros Wii and New Super Mario Bros U.

Mario Party 9 was also for the Wii, but will of course play on the Wii U.

Mario Party 10 is coming out on March 20 in the USA and should be a blast. It’s exclusive to the Wii U.

You can download Super Mario Galaxy 2 (which is a wii game) on the Wii U for little cash (I think it was around £9 here in the uk) and that is an absolute gem. My little boy and girl have both enjoyed it and they are 7 and 9

The other must-have is Mario Kart 8. That is the gift that keeps on giving. One of the best games I’ve ever played.
Also consider Pikmin 3. It is a strategy/problem solving game but it is surprisingly child friendly.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn for the Wii is the best possible answer. It is not a perfect game but it is cute (I mean hyper cute), allows unlimited deaths, and is 2-player. There is similar style game coming out “soon” for the Wii U called Yoshi’s Wooly World.

Oh i meant 3D world for wii u! All the names seem so clunky and similar.
I actually own galaxy 1 and 2 but she has a lot of difficulty getting pass the first few galaxies. So ill steer clear of platformers. I dunno. Maybe shes too young.
Mario party 9 and Mario kart 8 seem like good ideas.
I actually own pikmin (the first one). If the wii u version isnt as anxiety inducing and isolated ill definitely pick it up. Thanks for the suggestions. Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

Mario Party 9 is really, really bad. Most Mario Party games are random, but 9 is even worse than normal. I’d pick up 8 or wait for 10. I really think 9 is incredibly unfun and frustrating.

Wii Party U and Wii Fit U have a big variety of minigames, so every kid will be able to find at least a few that they enjoy. You could also get into the Disney Infinity games or the Lego games. Lego City Undercover is a great game, but unfortunately it’s only single-player. I think all the other Lego games have multiplayer.

Yep, I got it when my Dad gave me his Wii and it is a definite hit in multiplayer. My kids are a bit young still, but I played it through and am keeping it around because my kids will adore it in about 3 years or so.

Easiest game I’ve seen on a console. No deaths, almost no challenge. Great for kids.
