"Muñequita" - Name? Definition?

In the Santana/Rob Thomas song “Smooth,” he says “my Muñequita.” Is this just a proper name? If not, what is the meaning of the word?

Google has a number of hits, some capitalized, some not. It’s the title of a movie from 1941 and from 2006. It seems to appear in a number of other songs, which as far as I saw were in Spanish.

It means little doll. It’s a term of endearment.

Travis McGee had a small boat attached to his hoseboat, The Busted Flush called Muñequita. He said it meant Little Doll.
