muscles and electricity

Just caught part of an infomercial for an ab-thingy that causes your abs to constrict with electricity.

They cited some medical research that revealed electricity + exercize = 47% increased strength. The same research revealed exercize = 6% increase in strength, while just shocking the muscles resulted in 41% strength increase.

Is there any truth to this? I remember watching Dragon: The Bruce Lee story and, though I never encountered this in my readings of the Little Dragon, it was revealed that he shocked his muscles because “it’s like doing 200 push-ups.”

So what’s the official medical word on this? Will shocking my muscles do anything? If so, how can I shock them? I can’t just hook them up to my car battery (because I don’t have a car).

Yeah, I know, trusting an infomercial deserves a slap, but if there are benefits to be reaped I want to reap them.

never mind. Once I set the search to go back more than five days, I found this:
