While idling through my music collection, I enjoyed the track ‘One step up’ by Bruce Springsteen.
It strongly reminded me of the Bob Dylan song ‘Shelter from the storm’.
Is there a firm musical basis for this comparison?
How so? They are both softer songs about relationships, but that’s about it that I can see.
The albums containing both songs are in my record collection?
Otherwise, the melodies aren’t the same. Similiar rise and fall, but not the same melody.
I suppose I was thinking of either the melody or the ‘structure’, but I’m quite happy just to enjoy them both!
