Music Player, Whats the best one?

Not only that but I’m looking for a mucis player that will open and start playing music immediately with out all the clicking.
I currently have…

Winamp
MusicMatch
Windows Media

I want to be able to click on the music icon the player opens and I can hear my playlist or list of radio stations that I preferr.
Is that possible with one of the online players?

Windows Media Player seems to be getting more bloated, buggy and just plain unusable with every incarnation; When I open a music or video file that I created from scratch on my own machine, I don’t know what the hell it thinks it’s doing, but it often takes about half a minute before it will start playing. Just play the damn thing.

Winamp for me; the visualisation engine is better as well.

so anyone else know which player can be set up to start playing my playlist as soon as the program is opened?

Ok thanks if you have any imput.

foobar2000 will start up almost instantaneously, and you can set it to continue playing whatever you were listening when you last closed it.

The downside is that the interface you start with is ridiculously simple, so that you really need to spend some time customising it to get the most out of the program (though you can download interfaces other people have designed). However, you can customise it just about any way you want, which makes it the best music player IMO - you can make it whatever you want it to be.

I use Coolplayer (http://coolplayer.sourceforge.net/ Just drag and drop the songs you want to play and off it goes. It’s very simple and tiny and requires no installation.

Back when I used my PC more I used AudioActive. It’s light and fast, and it sounds great. The problem with it is that it’s ridiculously single-purpose; I used Sonique for CDs and other formats.

These days I just use iTunes; it sorts everything just about all the ways I could want.

Winamp will do it, you just need a plugin like:

I’m a big fan of winamp myself, I’ve been using it since version… 1.6 I think. 1 point something.

Playlists can be sorted in any order, I love the fact that with the modern skin, I can put it in ‘windowshade’ mode, put it so it’s always-on-top of all my windows, and nearly transparent until I click on it. Plus it’ll use all the keys at the top of my keyboard, so I can change songs/volume etc, even when I’m playing games (although I can’t change songs when I’m playing Battlefield 2… oh well. 1 out of 1000 ain’t bad)

It’s been great the responces, and I have since decided to go with the itunes which I have had for a while.
One of the key problems I was having is listening to the feed from my RadioReplay.
What is Radio replay? It’s a great program that will allow you to program in shows you want to record say everyday at 4pm on CFRB or whatever station in the world has live audio streaming, which most do.
But when you play it back on one of the players it has been a problem because you have to listen to the damn commercials.
Well I just discovered that itunes has a scroll bar which allows you to go forward or back on the main screen which resolves my problem.
But your imput was great many thanks.
